Hypomyces papulasporae is a mycoparasitic fungus that grows on and parasitizes other fungi, particularly species of Papulaspora. It inhabits decaying organic matter and fungal substrates in temperate forests and related environments. This parasitic ascomycete obtains nutrients by colonizing and digesting other fungal hosts on decomposing wood or soil.
