Novosphingobium arabidopsis is a Gram-negative aerobic rod first isolated from the roots of the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana. It inhabits the root endosphere and rhizosphere of small flowering plants in temperate regions. This chemoheterotroph may form beneficial associations with its plant hosts and degrade root-derived organic compounds.

Habitat & Distribution

Native to Asia, inhabiting ecosystems characteristic of the region.

Found in Taiwan.
