Falcomonas daucoides is a free-living heterotrophic flagellate in the class Kinetoplastea, characterized by its carrot-shaped (daucoides) cell body and distinctive gliding locomotion on substrate surfaces. It inhabits freshwater and soil environments where it feeds on bacteria. As a member of the kinetoplastids, it carries the characteristic mitochondrial DNA arrangement called the kinetoplast.
