Leptosporomyces septentrionalis is a corticioid basidiomycete forming thin, whitish to cream-colored crusts on decaying wood in northern habitats. It inhabits boreal and northern temperate forests across Scandinavia and related cold forest zones. This saprotrophic fungus decomposes fallen logs and branches in northern forest ecosystems.
