Antrocaryon
Found across multiple habitat types including tropical and subtropical moist broadleaf forests, tropical and subtropical grasslands and savannas, and mangrove forests and coastal wetlands within the Afrotropic biogeographic realm. Populations are also found in montane and highland environments at higher elevations.

Sphingobacterium cladoniae is a Gram-negative, rod-shaped bacterium first isolated from the lichen Cladonia. It inhabits lichen thalli and associated substrates in temperate and boreal environments. This bacterium may play roles in nutrient cycling within the lichen microbiome, degrading organic compounds from algal and fungal lichen components.
