Mikrosyphar polysiphoniae e uma pequena alga parda endofitica da ordem Ectocarpales que parasita algas vermelhas do genero Polysiphonia. Penetra no tecido cortical de seu hospedeiro, formando pequenas pustulas visiveis na superficie do talo do hospedeiro. Avaliada como Pouco Preocupante, e encontrada em ambientes marinhos costeiros temperados do hemisferio norte.
