Habitat

Found across multiple habitat types including tropical and subtropical moist broadleaf forests, tropical and subtropical dry broadleaf forests, and tropical and subtropical grasslands and savannas, among 4 distinct biome types spanning the Australasia and Indomalayan realms. Populations are also found in montane and highland environments at higher elevations.

Komodo Dragon

O dragão-de-komodo é o maior lagarto vivo. É encontrado apenas em algumas ilhas indonésias.

Petalonema alatum e uma cianobacteria bainhada e heterocistosa na familia Scytonemataceae, formando tricomas achatados envoltos em bainhas conspicuas em forma de asas (aladas). Habita solo umido, paredes de cavernas e superficies de rochas umidas em ambientes terrestres e de agua doce. Sua morfologia de bainha distintiva auxilia na identificacao e reflete adaptacoes para sobrevivencia em habitats periodicamente dessecantes.
