O papagaio-de-asa-laranja (Amazona amazonica) é uma amazona de porte médio que habita florestas tropicais e secundárias da América do Sul. Apresenta plumagem predominantemente verde com manchas laranja características nas asas, visíveis em voo, além de azul e amarelo na cabeça. Ocorre desde a Colômbia e Trinidad a leste até a Venezuela, as Guianas e ao sul pelo Brasil e Bolívia. É uma das amazonas mais comuns e difundidas, vive em bandos ruidosos e dorme em comunidade. É amplamente mantido como animal de estimação na América Latina e internacionalmente.
