A tartaruga-verde (Chelonia mydas) é uma das maiores tartarugas marinhas. Seu nome vem da cor verde da cartilagem e gordura, não do casco.
Rhabdogloea gorskii e uma cianobacteria colonial que forma celulas alongadas e em forma de bastonete dispostas em uma matriz mucilaginosa comum, dentro das comunidades de plancton de agua doce. E encontrada em lagos e reservatorios de regioes temperadas e contribui para a diversidade do fitoplancton. Como outras cianobacterias, pode formar floramentos em condicoes eutroficas quando os niveis de nutrientes e as temperaturas estao elevados.
