Green Sea Turtle
A tartaruga-verde (Chelonia mydas) é uma das maiores tartarugas marinhas. Seu nome vem da cor verde da cartilagem e gordura, não do casco.
Mallomonas allorgei e um flagelado crisofito com escamas de silica da familia Mallomonadaceae, caracterizado por corpo celular ovoide coberto de escamas silicias e cerdas intrincadamente estruturadas. Habita lagos e lagoas oligotroficas a mesotroficas de agua doce, onde contribui para a diversidade do fitoplancton. As escamas de silica das especies de Mallomonas se preservam bem em sedimentos lacustres e sao usadas como indicadores paleolimnologicos da quimica historica da agua.
