Komodo Dragon

Um beija-flor pernafú brilhantemente colorido dos Andes setentrionais, da Colômbia ao sul do Equador, os pernafús-brilhantes exibem plumagem verde iridescente vívida que brilha com uma qualidade quase luminescente sob luz intensa — inspirando o nome comum descritivo da espécie. Encontrado em floresta montana úmida em elevações de 1.800–3.500 metros. Os machos possuem tufo branco nas pernas e uma cauda violeta-azulada cintilante. São importantes polinizadores de plantas floridas das altas regiões andinas. Classificado como Pouco Preocupante.
