Encontrada em florestas umidas de terras baixas do Mexico a Bolivia, e altamente inteligente, longeva - ate 75 anos - e forma pares permanentes. Percorre longas distancias ate lambedouros de argila onde consome solo rico em minerais para desintoxicar sementes. Classificada como Pouco Preocupante, mas localmente ameacada pela perda de habitat e pelo comercio de animais de estimacao.
