Hygrophorus persoonii é um cogumelo robusto de lâminas cerosas com um chapéu de cor marrom-oliváceo escura e lâminas pálidas, pertencente à família Hygrophoraceae afim aos higrocíbicos. Cresce em florestas mistas e de coníferas, formando associações ectomicorrízicas com pinheiros e abetos na Europa temperada.
