Exobasidium splendidum é um fungo basidiomiceto parasita que forma galhas e crescimentos hipertrofiados nas folhas e caules de plantas hospedeiras da família das urzes. Habita habitats boreais e montanos onde crescem arbustos de Ericaceae como Arctostaphylos. Este fungo parasita deforma o tecido da planta hospedeira para extrair nutrientes durante sua fase reprodutiva.
