Disciseda candida é um pequeno gastromiceto semelhante a um puffball com corpo de frutificação esférico achatado, de cor branca a creme, que se desprende de sua base subterrânea ao amadurecer. Habita solos calcáreos e arenosos secos em ambientes de estepe e pastagens secas da Europa central e oriental. Este fungo saprótrofo decompõe matéria orgânica em solos de pastagens áridas e dispersa esporos quando seu perídio papiráceo se fragmenta.
