Populations are also found in montane and highland environments at higher elevations.

Conocybe siliginea é um pequeno e delicado cogumelo caracterizado pelo seu chapéu cónico de cor castanho-canela e o esguio estipe com anel. Cresce em solos ricos em nutrientes, relvados e zonas com erva na Europa e América do Norte. Este fungo saprotrófico decompõe matéria orgânica no solo, aparecendo frequentemente após chuva no final da primavera e no verão.
