Uromyces junci e um fungo ferrugem que parasita juncos (especies de Juncus), causando lesoes pustulosas de cor marrom-alaranjado em caules e folhas de suas plantas hospedeiras em habitats de zonas umidas e margens de agua. Este biotrofo obrigado depende inteiramente de tecido hospedeiro vivo para completar seu ciclo de vida. Distribui-se por regioes temperadas da Europa e alem, onde quer que ocorram hospedeiros Juncus adequados em ambientes umidos.
