Found across multiple habitat types including tropical and subtropical moist broadleaf forests, temperate coniferous forests, and temperate broadleaf and mixed forests, among 7 distinct biome types spanning the Indomalayan and Palearctic realms. Populations are also found in montane and highland environments at higher elevations.

Tawny-bellied Hermit
Um grande ermitao-beija-flor das florestas umidas das encostas andinas do Peru, Equador e Colombia, o ermitao-de-ventre-fulvo tem as partes inferiores de tom fulvo quente contrastando com as partes superiores verde-bronzeadas e um bico longo e fortemente curvo. Encontrado entre 300 e 1.500 metros de altitude no sub-bosque da floresta montana. Como todos os grandes ermitaos, e um forrageador de rotas fixas que visita longas trajetorias de flores muito esparsas. Os machos se reeunem em locais de lek tradicionais onde produzem vocalizacoes altas e repetitivas para atrair femeas.
