Bamboo bear
O panda-gigante (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) é um animal emblemático da China, célebre pela sua pelagem branca e preta e pela dieta baseada quase exclusivamente em bambu. Seu estado de conservação é vulnerável (VU), é o animal-bandeira da conservação internacional da vida silvestre e sua população apresentou alguma recuperação nos últimos anos.
Pluteus exiguus e um cogumelo pequeno de chapeu palido do genero Pluteus, produzindo laminas e esporos com tons rosacea na maturidade. Cresce em troncos e tocos de madeira dura em decomposicao em florestas temperadas europeias. Este fungo saprotrofico decompoe madeira morta e obtem nutrientes pela degradacao enzimatica do tecido vegetal lenhificado.
