O panda-gigante (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) é um animal emblemático da China, célebre pela sua pelagem branca e preta e pela dieta baseada quase exclusivamente em bambu. Seu estado de conservação é vulnerável (VU), é o animal-bandeira da conservação internacional da vida silvestre e sua população apresentou alguma recuperação nos últimos anos.

Phaeographis dendritica e um liquen crustoso corticola formando manchas palidas a esbranquicadas em casca lisa com apotecios lirellados dendriticos ramificados distintos. Habita florestas temperadas umidas e sombreadas, particularmente florestas primarias em regioes oceanicas. Classificado como Vulneravel, esta especie e ameacada pela perda de habitat e o declinio de ecossistemas florestais antigos e nao perturbados.
