Arcyria incarnata é um mixomiceto (mofo mucilaginoso) de cores vibrantes que produz densos agrupamentos de esporângios cilíndricos de cor rosa a carne sobre madeira em decomposição e serapilheira em habitats florestais. Durante sua fase vegetativa, existe como um plasmodio móvel que se alimenta de bactérias, fungos e partículas orgânicas. Esta espécie é encontrada em todo o mundo em ambientes florestais úmidos e sombreados com abundante madeira morta.
