É aeróbia, em forma de bastão e não móvel, com capacidade de degradar polissacarídeos no seu ambiente de solo. O gênero Dyadobacter faz parte do diverso filo Bacteroidetes, amplamente distribuído em habitats terrestres e de água doce.
