African elephant

Luteimonas padinae é uma bactéria Gram-negativa pigmentada de amarelo, primeiramente isolada da alga parda Padina em ambientes marinhos. Habita habitats marinhos costeiros, particularmente em associação com macroalgas. Este quimioheterótrofo aeróbio degrada compostos orgânicos derivados dos tecidos de algas e da matéria orgânica marinha.
