Classified as Least Concern by the IUCN, the species maintains stable populations across diverse terrestrial and aquatic habitats throughout sub-Saharan Africa, though specific geographic range data for this entry are limited. <em>Helogale parvula</em> is a highly social carnivore that typically lives in cooperative family groups of up to thirty individuals, led by a dominant breeding pair.
