Physarum pusillum는 습한 삼림 환경의 부후 식물 재료와 나무껍질에 작고 밝은색 포자낭을 형성하는 소형 변형균류이다. 이름은 다른 Physarum 종에 비해 작은 크기를 반영한다. 친척들처럼 생식 구조 형성 전 기질 위를 이동하며 먹이를 먹는 원형질 단계를 거치며 여러 대륙에 분포한다.
