Laminariocolax tomentosoides는 Ectocarpales 목에 속하는 미세 갈조류로, 다시마 등 대형 갈조류의 조직 내 내생 생물로 서식한다. 숙주의 피층 세포 안에 가지 달린 사상체로 된 펠트 모양의 층을 형성하며, 눈에 보이는 갈색 변색과 조직 손상을 일으킬 수 있다. 관심 필요 없음으로 평가되어 있으며, 온대 암석 해안을 따라 광범위하게 분포한다.
