Hygrophorus persoonii는 짙은 올리브갈색 갓과 연한 주름살을 가진 튼튼한 왁스 주름살 버섯으로 습지균과(Hygrophoraceae)에 속한다. 유럽 온대 지역의 혼합림과 침엽수림에서 소나무 및 가문비나무와 외균근 공생 관계를 형성하며 가을에 자실체가 나온다.
