Blue-headed Parrot

가장 화려한 피오누스 앵무새 중 하나인 파란머리앵무새(Pionus menstruus)는 초록색 몸 깃털과 붉은 아래꼬리 깃털과 대조되는 선명한 코발트 파란색 머리와 목을 보입니다. 멕시코 남부에서 중앙아메리카를 거쳐 남아메리카 북부와 서부의 습한 저지대 및 구릉지 숲에 서식합니다. 숲, 숲 가장자리, 맹그로브에 서식하며 시끄러운 무리를 지어 열매 맺는 나무로 이동합니다. 다른 많은 앵무새에 비해 조용하고 온순한 성격으로 인해 인기 있는 조류 사육종입니다.

Plum-crowned Parrot

페루와 볼리비아의 고지 안데스 운무림에 서식하는 중형 Pionus 앵무새로, 자두 왕관 앵무새는 흰 뺨과 녹색 몸통에 뚜렷한 자주-보라색 관 깃털을 보인다. 수목 한계선 근처의 산지 습윤 삼림에서 해발 2,400-4,000미터 고도에 분포하며, Pionus 종 중 가장 고지에 서식하는 종 중 하나이다. 소규모 무리를 이루어 씨앗, 열매, 꽃을 채식한다. 포획 상태에서는 비교적 잘 알려지지 않았으며, 야생 개체군은 최소 관심종이다.
