청황금강앵무(Ara ararauna)는 가장 화려하고 널리 사육되는 마코앵무 종 중 하나로, 선명한 코발트 블루 위쪽과 생생한 노란 아랫면, 녹색 이마가 대비됩니다. 동파나마에서 베네수엘라, 브라질, 볼리비아, 페루, 에콰도르에 걸쳐 숲, 삼림, 사바나에 서식합니다. 높은 지능을 지니며 쌍 또는 소집단을 이루어 야자 열매, 씨앗, 과일을 먹습니다. 400년 이상 새장 새로 인기를 유지하며 사육 환경에서 80년 이상 생존합니다.

붉은꼬리벌새(Amazilia tzacatl)는 중앙아메리카와 남아메리카 북서부에서 가장 흔한 벌새 중 하나로, 녹색 상체와 선명한 적갈색 꼬리가 특징인 중형 종이다. 멕시코에서 에콰도르, 트리니다드까지 해발 0~2,100m의 숲 가장자리, 정원, 농장, 2차 성장림 등 다양한 서식지에서 발견된다. 먹이 식물과 급이대에서 영역을 적극적으로 방어하며, 서식 범위 전역의 정원에서 자주 목격된다. IUCN 관심필요종이다.
