Black-winged Saltator

검은날개솔새새(Saltator atripennis)는 에콰도르와 콜롬비아 태평양 저지대의 습윤 숲 가장자리와 이차림에 서식하는 크고 건장한 씨앗 먹이 새입니다. 흰 날개 무늬와 선명하게 대비되는 검은 날개를 가진 청석색 몸통이 특징입니다. 밀집된 관목, 숲 경계, 이차 성장지에 서식하며 크고 딱딱한 씨앗을 부수는 강력한 부리를 지닙니다. 태평양 연안 숲에서 안정적인 개체군을 유지하는 최소관심종입니다.

Slate-colored Grosbeak

아마존 분지, 중앙아메리카, 남아메리카 북부의 습한 저지대 숲에 서식하는 크고 두꺼운 부리를 가진 씨앗 먹는 새로, 전체적으로 어두운 슬레이트 회색 깃털과 강력한 연한 부리를 지닌다. 이름과 달리 Saltator 속으로 분류된다. 빽빽하고 습한 숲 내부와 숲 가장자리에 서식하며 짝을 이루거나 소규모 무리를 이루어 큰 씨앗과 단단한 열매를 채집한다. 강력한 부리로 대부분의 다른 새들이 깨지 못하는 단단한 씨앗도 쪼개어 먹는다. IUCN 적색 목록에서 최소 관심 종으로 등재되어 있다.
