Eurasian Eagle-Owl

세계에서 키와 무게가 가장 큰 올빼미 종인 수리부엉이(Bubo bubo)는 날개 폭이 최대 1.9미터에 달하며 유럽에서 아시아를 거쳐 중국에 이르는 암석 지형, 삼림 가장자리, 절벽에 서식합니다. 강력한 발톱을 지닌 조용한 야행성 사냥꾼으로 토끼, 산토끼, 여우, 심지어 다른 맹금류까지 먹이로 삼습니다. 깊고 울림 있는 울음소리가 먼 거리까지 전달됩니다. 역사적으로 박해를 받았지만 개체군은 비교적 안정적입니다.
