Habitat

Found across multiple habitat types including tropical and subtropical moist broadleaf forests, tropical and subtropical dry broadleaf forests, and flooded grasslands and savannas, among 10 distinct biome types spanning the Neotropic and Palearctic realms. Populations are also found in montane and highland environments at higher elevations.

American Bald Eagle

흰머리독수리(Haliaeetus leucocephalus)는 미국의 국조이자 미국 자연 보전 성공의 상징으로, 날개 폭이 최대 2.4미터에 달하며 북미 전역의 수변 삼림과 습지에 서식한다. 주로 물고기를 포식하는 강력한 공중 포식자이자 청소 동물로, DDT 오염과 남획으로 1960년대에 멸종 위기에 처했으나 농약 사용 금지와 멸종위기종보호법 시행 이후 극적으로 개체수가 회복되었다.

Lysinibacillus macroides는 Planococcaceae과에 속하는 그람양성 내생포자 형성 세균으로, 속 내 다른 구성원에 비해 상대적으로 큰 간균 세포가 특징이다. 호기성 내지 통성혐기성이며 토양, 물, 부패한 유기물에서 발견된다. 다른 Lysinibacillus 종과 마찬가지로 Lys-Ala 세포벽 펩티도글리칸 구조로 Bacillus와 구별된다.
