Leptolyngbya perelegans는 Leptolyngbyaceae과에 속하는 세사형 시아노박테리아로, 토양 피각, 담수 생물막, 해양 조간대 등 다양한 환경에서 발견됩니다. 가는 사상체는 얇고 불분명한 초 안에 둘러싸여 있으며 기질 위를 천천히 활주합니다. Leptolyngbya 속은 형태적으로 다양하며 분자계통학으로 상당한 분류 개정을 거쳤습니다.
