Euglena splendens는 엽록체에서 비롯된 길쭉한 몸체와 밝은 녹색으로 특징지어지는 광합성 단세포 유글레나류입니다. 온대 및 열대 지역 전역의 연못, 도랑, 영양분이 풍부한 물을 포함한 고인 담수 환경에 서식합니다. 이 혼합 영양 생물은 빛 조건에서 광합성을 수행하고 어두움에서 용해된 유기 영양소를 흡수할 수 있습니다.
