Asperococcus ensiformis는 암석 기질에 부착하는 길쭉한 자루 모양 또는 검 모양의 엽체를 형성하는 관형 내지 납작한 갈조류입니다. 북대서양과 지중해 연안의 조간대 및 얕은 조하대 암반 해안에 서식하며, 파도에 노출된 연안 지대의 암반과 대형조류 위에서 생장하는 광합성 대형조류입니다.
