About

ムラサキマントタナガー(Iridosornis porphyrocephalus)は深みのある紫青色のマントと栗色の脇腹が黒い顔と翼と対比する華やかなアンデスのタナガーである。コロンビアとエクアドルの標高1,000~2,200メートルの湿潤雲霧林と森林縁部に生息する。雄の輝く紫色のマントの羽毛は林冠の光の中で虹色に輝く。ペアや小集団で森林内部と縁部に生息し、果実と昆虫を採食する。コロンビアとエクアドルの雲霧林の著しい森林破壊により危急(VU)として掲載されている。
