Orange-cheeked Waxbill(Estrilda melpoda、アカほおエストリルダ)は、灰色の頭部、茶色の背部、淡白い下腹部を背景に目立つオレンジ色の頬斑を持つ魅力的な小型エストリルドフィンチである。西アフリカと中央アフリカの湿潤な森林と森林縁が原産地である。主に水辺近くで小さな草の種と雑草の種を食べる。鳥類飼育用として広く飼育されており、プエルトリコ、ヨーロッパ、アジアの一部で野生化個体群が定着している。活発で社交的であり、ペア絆が強い。
