About

インドオオインコ(Psittacula derbiana)は世界最大級のインコの一つで、独特の青緑色の羽毛、赤と黒の縞模様のくちばし、60cmを超える長くとがった尾を持つ。ヒマラヤ東部、中国南西部、ミャンマー北部の標高1,000〜4,000mの山岳林に生息する。森林破壊と捕獲によって危急種に指定されており、観賞用の鳥として珍重される。血縁ペアが優性繁殖ペアを助ける協力繁殖が知られている。
