Dinobryon suecicumは、壺状のロリカ内に個々の細胞が入った分岐した連鎖を形成する群体性ロリカ型黄金藻類である。種名がスウェーデンを指すように、ヨーロッパの北方および温帯の貧栄養から中栄養の淡水湖沼に生息する。この混合栄養性生物は光合成を行いながら、補助栄養源として細菌も摂食する。
