バーレッドインコ（Bolborhynchus lineola）は、新世界のオウム類の中で最小の種の一つで、メキシコ南部からエクアドル西部にかけての中南米の標高1,200〜3,000メートルの湿潤山地林に生息します。緑色の地に特徴的な黒い横縞模様が優れた林冠部での迷彩を提供します。小群で種子や果実を採食し、タケ林でよく見られます。オウムにしては静かで目立たず、野生での研究が少なく、愛鳥家に飼育されることもあります。
