About

アフリカ固有の唯一のペンギン種であるケープペンギンは、ナミビアからポートエリザベスにかけての南アフリカ沿岸の島や海岸線に生息する。体高70 cmに達し、ロバに似た鳴き声と目の上の独特なピンク色の腺が特徴である。商業漁業による餌の減少、油流出、気候変動に伴う餌分布の変化により2000年以降個体数が70%減少しており、危機(EN)とされている。
