アカオハチドリ(Amazilia tzacatl)は中央アメリカと南アメリカ北西部で最もよく見られるハチドリの一つで、緑色の上面と診断的な明るい赤褐色の尾が特徴的な中型種である。メキシコからエクアドル、トリニダードにかけて、海抜0~2,100mの林縁、庭園、農園、二次林など多様な環境に生息する。給餌台や花の咲く植物の縄張りを積極的に守り、分布域全体の庭でしばしば目撃される。軽度懸念に指定されている。
