アマゾンオウムの中で最大級の種の一つであるコナフキリインコは、青灰色の頭部と羽毛に独特の粉をまぶしたような光沢を持つ繊細な粉緑色の羽毛が特徴で、この特徴から名前がついた。メキシコ南部から中央アメリカを経てボリビアおよびブラジルまでの南米大部分の低地熱帯林に生息する。つがいや小群れで移動する。世界的には軽度懸念種だが、生息地の消失やペット取引の影響を局地的に受けている。
