Tiger

Lepocinclis marssoniiはPhacaceae科に属する単細胞の光合成ユーグレナ類鞭毛虫で、炭素貯蔵化合物であるパラミロン顆粒を持つ剛直な紡錘形〜楕円形の細胞体が特徴です。富栄養〜中栄養の淡水池、用水路、湿地に生息し、植物プランクトン群集に貢献します。同属のユーグレナとは異なり、Lepocinclis細胞は形態変化(メタボリー)ができない剛直なペリクルを持ちます。
