Found across multiple habitat types including tropical and subtropical moist broadleaf forests, tropical and subtropical dry broadleaf forests, and tropical and subtropical grasslands and savannas, among 4 distinct biome types spanning the Australasia and Indomalayan realms. Populations are also found in montane and highland environments at higher elevations.

Pseudoxanthomonas daejeonensisは韓国大田近郊の土壌から最初に単離された黄色色素を持つグラム陰性桿菌である。温帯陸上土壌環境に生息し、キサントモナジン関連色素を産生する。この好気性化学有機栄養生物は韓国土壌での有機物分解に参加する。
