Habitat

Found across multiple habitat types including tropical and subtropical moist broadleaf forests, tropical and subtropical dry broadleaf forests, and tropical and subtropical grasslands and savannas, among 4 distinct biome types spanning the Australasia and Indomalayan realms. Populations are also found in montane and highland environments at higher elevations.

コモドオオトカゲ(Varanus komodoensis)は現存する最大のトカゲである。インドネシアのいくつかの島にのみ生息している。

Kurthia huakuii はPlanococcaceae科に属するグラム陽性桿菌で、中国の環境サンプルから初めて特性化された。属の他のメンバーと同様に好気性・非芽胞形成性で、成長の特定段階では周毛性鞭毛で運動できる。Kurthia属のメンバーは土壌、腐敗有機物、動物性食品に見られる腐生菌である。
