Lamproderma pseudomaculatum は、冷涼で湿った生息地の腐敗植物素材や土壌に、表面に金属光沢を持つ暗色の光沢ある胞子嚢を形成する粘菌類である。Lamproderma属のメンバーは雪田下の高山・亜高山・北極ツンドラ環境に特徴的に見られる。この種は高標高生態系の分解と栄養循環に貢献する。
