アオサギ

最大1メートルの高さに達する大型の優美な渉禽類であるアオサギは、ヨーロッパ、アジア、アフリカ全域の湿地、川、湖、沿岸地域に生息します。忍耐強い単独の狩猟者で、長時間静止した後、稲妻のような素早いダガーのような嘴の一撃で魚、カエル、小型哺乳類を捕らえます。サギのコロニーと呼ばれる集団繁殖地で高い木に群れを作って繁殖し、時に他のコロニー性水鳥と共生します。世界的に広く分布しており、軽度懸念種です。
