Disciseda candidaは、成熟時に地下の基部から分離する白色からクリーム色の扁平な球形子実体を持つ小型のホコリタケ類似腹菌類である。中東欧の乾燥した石灰質・砂質土壌、ステップおよび乾燥草原環境に生息する。この腐生菌は乾燥草原土壌で有機物を分解し、紙状の外被が裂けると胞子を飛散させる。
