Oscillatoria rupicolaはOscillatoriaceae科の糸状シアノバクテリアで、淡水流、滝、湿った陸上基質の岩表面にマットとバイオフィルムを形成します。円筒形トリコームに異形細胞はなく、属名の由来となった振動滑走運動を示します。岩着生環境においてバイオフィルム型一次生産に貢献しています。
